Drawing on twenty years as a watercolorist, Andrea Brewer has developed a distinctive method of layering fibers to create textured landscapes. She works with a wide variety of natural fibers, including many breeds of wool, silk, cotton, bamboo, flax, angora, mohair and alpaca. She dyes the fibers by hand and layers them meticulously in an effort to faithfully reproduce scenes from nature. Andrea employs several fiber manipulation techniques in her work, including dyeing, felting, beading and hand-embroidery.
